Asian Americans Advancing Justice

Human Services
If you’re concerned with rampant unfairness in the legal system, you can donate a car to Asian Americans Advancing Justice to help some of those most victimized by the system. California has more immigrants than any other U.S. state, so for more than 35 years the nonprofit has provided advocacy and litigation services to individuals in Los Angeles. The largest legal and civil rights organization for Asian Americans, native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders, this nonprofit group serves more than 15,000 individuals and organizations per year. The charity offers assistance to the most vulnerable among the Asian community, including those who don’t have the strength or political power to fight for their civil rights. The organization has been responsible for winning lawsuits and getting legislation passed that improves the legal system. They give a voice to those who are victimized by a system without equitable social justice. Though the nonprofit does not speak for all Asian communities, they offer litigation and legal services, research and advocacy, community education and training, coalition-building and leadership development – to advance justice for all. Some of the services they provide include taking steps to champion clients on immigration issues and provide legal information and counseling. A car charity donation to Asian Americans Advancing Justice enables you to partner with them as they address issues such as domestic violence while providing family law services to Asians with limited English skills. They step in for people who are victims of sex trafficking or are facing foreclosure, reducing the possibility that these immigrants will fall prey to scams. Staff members provide assistance in many different languages including Vietnamese, Korean, Tagalog, Mandarin, Cantonese and Khmer. People of all cultures can relate to the fear you experience when you’re in a foreign environment. But everyone can also understand how good it feels to give generously. The group aims to positively influence and impact Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders and to create a more equitable and harmonious society.
