Northeastern University Hillel

 Northeastern Hillel was originally known as The Bnai Brith Hillel Counselorship of Northeastern University located in Boston, Massachusetts. From having 100 students in their first year of counselorship, to now serving over 1000-1200 students at their current location, located at 70 Saint Stephen Street. From 1962 to today, Hillel has continued a mission to help build a community for Jewish students of all walks of life. Hillel’s mission is to enrich the lives of Jewish college students so that they may enrich the Jewish people and the world. They are a pluralistic Jewish community of multiracial students, white students, students of color, straight students, queer students, and more.     Hillel’s student, community, and professional leadership is dedicated to creating a pluralistic, welcoming, and inclusive environment where Jewish college students are encouraged to grow intellectually, spiritually, and socially. Community members display their Jewish pride in a variety of ways, from wearing a kippah or a Star of David necklace, attending Shabbat services or a holiday meal, or participating in acts of justice and compassion. Hillel helps students find a balance in an identity that is both distinctively Jewish and universally human. Encouraging the community to pursue tzedek (justice), tikkun olam (repairing the world) and Jewish learning, as well as supporting Israel, Zionism, and global Jewish peoplehood. Hillel is committed to excellence, innovation, accountability and results.
